**About This Opportunity:**

You’re more than a numbers person; you’re a strategic business partner who sees the story behind the financials. Here’s your chance to step into a pivotal leadership role with a respected, established company in the construction industry. Located in the Columbia, SC metro area, this isn't just about managing books—it's about steering financial strategy, leading a team, and directly impacting the company's growth and stability. If you’re ready to be the right hand to executive leadership and own the financial health of multiple entities, we should talk.

**What You Will Do:**

You will plan and direct the entire accounting and finance function, serving as a key leader who works cross-functionally to deliver positive business results. Reporting to the Vice President, you’ll lead a team, champion our values, and foster a positive work environment.

Your core responsibilities will blend deep technical accounting with high-level strategic partnership:

**Own the Accounting & Financial Narrative:**
You will oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, inventory, and the general ledger. You’ll manage the timely month-end close and ensure our policies and procedures are rock-solid. Your analysis turns data into decisions—you’ll prepare detailed financial reports, analyze overhead and job costs, and provide the insights our President and VP need to drive profitability. You’ll be the voice explaining the “why” behind the numbers.

**Guide Our Financial Future:**
You will be instrumental in building our annual budget and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with the management team. You’ll also safeguard our financial health by managing cash flow, maintaining banking relationships, and ensuring all entities are properly funded.

**Ensure Integrity & Compliance:**
You will be our guardian of risk management. This means establishing strong internal controls, managing our insurance and bonding programs, and serving as the main point of contact for our external CPA to ensure full tax and regulatory compliance.

**What You Bring:**

* A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with proven leadership skills.
* Expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
* A strong understanding of internal controls and compliance.
* The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
* A collaborative, proactive mindset—you’re a problem-solver who seeks to understand the business deeply.
* Experience in the construction or a similar project-base
