Job purpose
Opportunity for a Finance Manager who plans and directs the accounting and finance function for company's various legal entities. The Finance Manager is a key leader in the company working cross functionally to deliver positive business and financial results. The Finance Manager directly leads a team, promoting a positive work environment and upholding the company鈥檚 values. Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
路 Oversee accounts payable and receivable, inventory management, and general ledger maintenance.
路 Manage timely and accurate month-end close activities.
路 Maintain and document accounting policies and procedures.
Financial Reporting:
路 Prepare and analyze accurate month end financial reports reflecting month, quarter and year-to-date results.
路 Coordinate completion of Weekly Flash Report and Monthly KPI workbook.
路 Provide verbal and written analysis of the actual results compared to budget/forecast, recommending and facilitating business decisions to improve results.
路 Analyze overhead costs, understand and communicate trends.
路 Analyze project job costs and ensure accurate accounting. Consider and recommend job pricing strategies with President and Vice President to increase profitability.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
路 Create and maintain annual budget together with the management team.
路 Create and maintain quarterly forecasts together with the management team.
Treasury:
路 Maintain banking relationships in partnership with President and Vice President.
路 Review daily/weekly cash requirements with President and Vice President.
路 Develop and maintain cash flow forecast.
路 Ensure accounts are properly funded across legal entities daily.
Compliance & Risk Management:
路 Establish and maintain a system of internal controls.
路 Manage insurance programs property, general liability and workers compensation.
路 Manage project bonds.
路 Maintain relationship with external CPA.
路 Ensure tax compliance and regulatory reporting in partnership with external CPA (including timely income, sales tax filings & 941鈥檚).
路 Coordinate the financial statement review or audit, as appropriate.
路 Prepare business and contractor licenses.
Staff Development:
路 Create and promote positive work environment.
路 Hire, train and retain accounting and finance staff.
路 Develop cross-training program across accounting functions.
