Mechanical Engineer
📍 Omaha, Nebraska
đź’° $80,000 - $100,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t a role where you’ll sit behind a screen all day pushing paper. At KnowHireMatch.com, we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to get their hands dirty—literally. You’ll design, build, test, and refine custom-engineered solutions for real-world applications. If you thrive on seeing your work come to life from concept to commissioning, and you’re ready to own the full product lifecycle, this Omaha-based role is your next move.
**What You’ll Do**
You will design, develop, and test mechanical and electrical products from concept through completion—tailored specifically for bespoke customer applications. That means you’ll be the person who turns a unique request into a working prototype, then into a manufactured reality.
You’ll process Engineering Change Orders to revise designs and create custom solutions, and you’ll carry out every phase of custom-engineered development: designing, modeling, drafting, prototyping, and testing.
You’ll support new product launches and coordinate the handoff from the R&D team to the Product Platform team—making sure nothing gets lost in translation.
You’ll complete mechanical analysis and simulations (stress, durability, fatigue life) to ensure designs are solid before they hit the shop floor. You’ll select materials, recommend manufacturing processes, and then—here’s the hands-on part—you’ll build, assemble, and test those designs yourself.
You’ll perform design validation and verification to make sure products meet specs, and you’ll assess project and product risks, taking action to reduce them throughout development.
You’ll also support corrective action investigations and permanent fixes, and you’ll perform on-site inspections and commissioning activities—so you’ll see your work in the field.
**What You Bring**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development
- Strong understanding of mechanical analysis, simulation tools, and material selection
- A results-focused, self-directed, data-driven mindset—you adapt easily to changing customer and business needs
- Comfort working cross-functionally with product development engineers, product management, sales, and manufacturing teams
**Why Join?**
This is a role for someone who wants to own their work—from the whiteboard to the test bench to the customer site. You’ll be a key player on a collaborative team that values real problem-solving over bureaucracy.
**Compensation:** $80,000 – $100,000 per year, plus bonus potential.
