You will own the end-to-end development of radio test systems—from concept through deployment and sustainment. Your primary focus? Writing software applications in NI LabVIEW that control and automate test and measurement equipment. You’ll design, develop, and debug these applications, ensuring they’re robust, repeatable, and ready for the field.
**What you’ll do day-to-day:**
- Design and build automated test solutions for RF communication systems, working closely with hardware engineers to validate performance
- Develop LabVIEW and TestStand code that interfaces with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and audio analyzers
- Debug and optimize test sequences, troubleshooting both software and hardware integration issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to sustain existing test systems and introduce new capabilities
**What you bring to the table:**
- **Experience:** Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of relevant experience (or Master’s + 4 years, or 10+ years without a degree)
- **Core skills:** Deep expertise in NI LabVIEW and TestStand; solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and radio/RF communication systems
- **Hands-on familiarity** with RF and baseband test equipment—you know your way around a spectrum analyzer like it’s second nature
**Bonus points if you have:**
- Object-Oriented Programming and Design (OOP/OOD) knowledge
- Experience with software management tools like SVN/GIT and JIRA
- A knack for turning complex test requirements into clean, maintainable automation code
This role is for an engineer who wants to see their work deployed in the real world—where a clean test pass means a warfighter gets reliable comms. You’ll be part of a team that values precision, curiosity, and the kind of problem-solving that only comes from getting your hands dirty with both code and hardware.
