Engineering Project Manager
📍 Omaha
đź’° $150,000 - $200,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
At KnowHireMatch.com, we’re looking for an Engineering Project Manager who doesn’t just follow blueprints—you help write them. This is a chance to lead the technical charge on natural gas–fueled power generation projects from concept through construction, with the added possibility of shaping carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) initiatives that are defining the future of energy. If you thrive at the intersection of engineering rigor and business strategy, and you want your work to have a tangible impact on how power is generated, this role in Omaha is your next move.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll own the technical side of project development, collaborating across disciplines to turn ideas into operational reality. Here’s a taste of what that looks like:
- Define, plan, and manage all engineering activities for power generation projects—from early feasibility to final design and construction.
- Evaluate facility configurations and layout options, then lead technology selection to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost.
- Develop the project design basis, oversee conceptual design, and monitor equipment supplier innovations to keep decisions sharp.
- Prepare performance estimates—capacity, efficiency, heat balances, water consumption—and conduct site feasibility reviews covering constructability, geotechnical work, hydrology, and permitting.
- Build and review project schedules, contribute to technical risk assessments, and identify creative solutions to design challenges that maximize capacity and efficiency while controlling scope, schedule, and cost.
- Oversee technical specifications and coordinate bid processes for major equipment, engineering design, and construction services.
- Prepare capital and operating cost estimates for various configurations and technologies, and produce comprehensive technical reports and documentation.
- Maintain organized project records and step in on other duties as the work demands.
**What You Bring**
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution, backed by 5–10 years of hands-on experience in energy sector engineering design and technology. You’re comfortable working with combustion turbine generators (simple and combined cycle) and reciprocating internal combustion engines, and you’re ready to dive into CCS projects if the opportunity arises. You collaborate easily with leadership, development, public relations, environmental, real estate, finance, and operations teams—plus external partners like consultants, suppliers, and lenders. You’re organized, analytical, and not afraid to challenge assumptions to find a better way.
**Compensation & Location**
This role is based in Omaha and offers a competitive salary range of **$150,000–$200,000 per year**, reflecting your experience and impact.
