Process Controls & Electrical Engineering Manager
📍 Akron, Ohio
đź’° $120,000 - $155,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another plant engineering role. It’s a chance to take ownership of the electrical and control systems that keep a well-established industrial manufacturer running—and to build and lead a team that makes that happen. You’ll be the go-to technical leader in Akron, working onsite where your decisions directly impact production uptime, safety, and capital project success. If you’re ready to move beyond individual contributor work and shape how a facility operates, this is your next step.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll lead a small, focused team of 2–4 process controls and electrical engineers, mentoring them through daily troubleshooting and long-term improvement projects. You’ll also coordinate with external design resources when specialized expertise is needed. Your days will blend hands-on technical work with strategic leadership.
- **Own the systems:** Troubleshoot and optimize PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), DCS platforms (like Foxboro or similar), and industrial power distribution systems.
- **Drive capital projects:** Scope, budget, and execute engineering projects that improve plant performance, reliability, and safety.
- **Ensure compliance:** Champion EHS standards and electrical safety codes across the facility—no shortcuts.
- **Collaborate across teams:** Work shoulder-to-shoulder with operations, maintenance, and engineering to solve problems fast and keep production moving.
- **Lead continuous improvement:** Identify opportunities, implement solutions, and measure results that matter.
**What You Bring**
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and at least 6 years of experience in process controls and electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment. You’ve worked with industrial power distribution and are comfortable with PLC and DCS platforms. You’re ready to lead—not just manage—a team. You communicate clearly, think on your feet, and know how to balance technical depth with practical, on-the-ground decision-making.
**Compensation & Details**
- **Salary:** $120,000 – $155,000 per year
- **Location:** Akron, Ohio (onsite, no remote)
- **Type:** Direct hire, full benefits, relocation assistance available
- **Sponsorship:** This role does not offer U.S. work visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
This is a high-visibility role with a company that values your expertise and gives you the autonomy to make a real impact. If you’re ready to lead, troubleshoot, and build, we want to hear from you.
