Sr. Project Manager / Capital Projects

📍 Pittsburg, California 💰 $150,000 - $200,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another project management role—it’s your chance to shape the future of a major North American manufacturing network. At KnowHireMatch.com, we’re looking for a strategic technical leader who thrives on complexity and owns the room. You’ll take the reins on capital investments north of $30M, guiding them from a blank sheet of paper to full operational reality. If you’ve got the grit, the engineering depth, and the safety-first mindset to deliver high-stakes infrastructure projects, this is where you build your legacy.

**Your Mission**
You will lead the full lifecycle of large-scale capital projects across our chemical manufacturing sites. From feasibility studies and vendor selection through detailed engineering and construction management, you’ll own the outcome. You’ll align project scope with business needs, manage day-to-day activities and budgets, and navigate the tricky interdependencies between technology and operations. Expect to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams—Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation—while overseeing specialized contractors for chemical unit operations like reaction chemistry and distillation. You’ll also present project health, cost variance, and risk mitigation strategies directly to the Steering Committee and senior stakeholders.

**Safety & Technical Governance**
You’ll serve as the go-to expert in OSHA Process Management of Change (MOC) and SIS implementation. You’ll lead critical safety reviews—HAZOPs, LOPAs, and PSSRs—to ensure every project meets the highest standards of operational integrity. This isn’t a checkbox exercise; it’s about building a culture where safety drives every decision.

**What You Bring**
- **Education:** BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Chemical preferred).
- **Experience:** 15–20 years of hands-on Capital Project Management in chemical manufacturing environments.
- **Safety Mastery:** Expert-level knowledge of PSM systems, MOC, and SIS implementation.
- **Project Controls:** Proven ability to manage complex budgets and schedules using MS Project, Primavera, or similar stage-gate (FEL) methodologies.
- **Chemical Proficiency:** Working knowledge of chemical unit operations such as reaction chemistry, distillation, and separations.

**Compensation & Perks**
- **Salary:** $150,000 – $200,000 per year
- **Bonus:** Annual performance bonuses
- **Relocation:** Paid relocation to Pittsburg, California
- **Health & Wellness:** Premium medical, dental, and vision plans starting Day 1
- **Financial Benefits:** 401k matching, employee share plans
- **Support & Growth:** 12–20 weeks of parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and extensive international career development opportunities
