**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another engineering leadership role. It’s a chance to build the backbone of America’s energy transition from the ground up—right here in Omaha. You’ll lead the technical vision for natural gas–fueled power projects while also shaping emerging carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) initiatives. If you’re a seasoned engineer who thrives on mentoring teams, wrestling with complex technical trade-offs, and seeing projects through from concept to commissioning, this is your next chapter.
**What You’ll Do**
You will lead a team of technical professionals—setting priorities, coaching for growth, and holding the bar high on quality, safety, and culture. As the go-to subject matter expert on thermal power generation, you’ll guide everything from technology selection to engineering design to contracting and project management.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Overseeing technoeconomic analyses to evaluate project configurations and optimize performance and cost
- Directing layout, conceptual design, and civil/electrical engineering across all disciplines
- Leading technology evaluations and risk assessments to inform major decisions
- Guiding the preparation of development and construction schedules, capital and operating cost estimates, and performance metrics
- Managing site feasibility reviews—constructability, geotechnical, hydrology, permitting
- Overseeing bid processes and technical specifications for major equipment, engineering design, and construction
You’ll also provide technical support for CCS projects, conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions, and lend expertise to the company’s operating power fleet. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with development, origination, real estate, public relations, environmental, finance, operations, and asset management teams—plus external partners, suppliers, and contractors.
**What You Bring**
- **15+ years** of progressive engineering experience, with deep expertise in thermal power generation technologies
- A proven track record leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers at all levels
- Strong command of project delivery—on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards
- Experience with technoeconomic modeling, risk assessment, and contractor selection
- Familiarity with carbon capture, pipeline, and sequestration is a strong plus
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally
**Compensation & Location**
- **$175,000 – $250,000 per year**, based on experience
- Based in **Omaha**—a vibrant, growing city with a low cost of living and a strong sense of community
If you’re ready to lead, build, and mentor on projects that matter, we’d love to hear from you.
