Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer
📍 New Berlin, Wisconsin
đź’° $115,000 - $125,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t a maintenance role. It’s a design-and-architect position where you’ll own the standards that power global manufacturing. As the Corporate Subject Matter Expert on our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll define how automated systems are built, coded, and scaled—from the ground up. When the grid fails, your engineering keeps the lights on. And you’ll do it from New Berlin, Wisconsin, with hybrid flexibility and a team that trusts you to get the work done.
**What You’ll Own**
You’ll design, implement, and scale automated controls systems using sound engineering principles. That means architecting structured, documented, and reusable PLC code in Rockwell Logix that talks to robots, conveyors, and third-party equipment. You’ll also lead digital transformation—working alongside IT to connect manufacturing assets to the enterprise network via SCADA, Historians, and OPC servers. Safety is non-negotiable: you’ll implement ANSI/RIA/OSHA-compliant systems for high-volume equipment. And you’ll manage the full lifecycle of projects, from RFQ/RFP through FAT/SAT, while mentoring junior engineers on best practices.
**What You Bring**
- **Education:** BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- **Experience:** 7–10 years of deep expertise in Rockwell Logix and discrete manufacturing automation.
- **Technical Breadth:** Proven experience in control panel design, field wiring, and installing programs for new product introductions (NPI).
- **Travel:** Occasional day trips to regional sites for equipment support and vendor qualification.
**Preferred Expertise**
- Platforms: GE RXi, Fanuc Robotics, and Industry 4.0 software (Ignition, PTC, or similar).
- Machine vision, IIoT, and MES integration.
- Experience leading RFQ/RFP processes and managing external machine suppliers.
**Why You’ll Stay**
- **True Ownership:** You’re not following a manual—you’re writing the corporate standards for factory-level control systems.
- **Cutting-Edge Tech:** Rockwell Logix, GE RXi, Fanuc robotics, machine vision, and IIoT/MES integration.
- **Flexibility:** Hybrid work from our Waukesha HQ, with “Dress for Your Day” and remote options for appointments, illness, or weather.
- **Impact:** Our products provide critical power when the world needs it most. Your engineering keeps hospitals, data centers, and emergency systems running.
**Compensation & Benefits**
$115,000 – $125,000 per year, plus full medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
