Manager, North American Accounting & Financial Reporting
📍 Middletown, Connecticut
đź’° $120,000 - $140,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another accounting leadership role. It’s a chance to step into the engine room of a multi-billion-dollar global manufacturing powerhouse—where your decisions shape how the numbers tell the story. Based in Middletown, CT, you’ll lead North American financial reporting for a premier entity, working in a hybrid model (three days in-office) while building a career path that could take you across borders. If you’ve got Big 4 roots, a CPA, and a hunger for strategic impact, this is your next move.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll own the financial close for North American legal entities—month-end, quarterly, and annual—ensuring every number aligns with IFRS and corporate standards. That means zero tolerance for errors, but plenty of room for leadership.
- **Be the audit anchor.** You’ll serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, managing quarterly and annual reviews with transparency and efficiency. No fire drills—just clean, confident processes.
- **Guide the Shared Service Center.** You’ll provide direction to the General Accounting team, ensuring consistent, high-quality reporting across the region. Think of it as conducting an orchestra where every instrument plays in tune.
- **Collaborate across the finance ecosystem.** You’ll work hand-in-hand with Controlling, Order-to-Cash, Tax, and Treasury to align closing activities with broader business strategy. You’re the bridge between technical accounting and real-world decisions.
- **Drive continuous improvement.** Identify gaps in internal controls, streamline processes, and implement optimizations that make the entire finance function stronger.
- **Lead special projects.** From M&A integrations to SAP system migrations, you’ll take the lead on finance-side initiatives that shape the company’s future.
**What You Bring**
You’re a seasoned accounting professional with at least 7–10 years of progressive experience—and Big 4 audit is non-negotiable. A CPA is strongly preferred, and a bachelor’s in accounting is required.
- **Technical depth:** You know IFRS or US GAAP inside out—revenue recognition, leasing, pensions, M&A. Advanced Excel is a given; SAP experience is a strong plus.
- **Executive presence:** You can translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable insights for non-finance leaders. You speak with confidence and listen with curiosity.
- **Collaborative drive:** You thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where your voice matters—and you’re motivated by the chance to grow internationally over the long term.
**Compensation & Location**
This role offers a base salary of **$120,000–$140,000 per year**, plus the stability of a global organization. You must be local to the Middletown, CT area and able to work in-office three days per week.
