# Asset Optimization Engineer – Kansas City, MO

**Compensation: $130,000 – $155,000 per year**

## About This Opportunity

You’re the kind of engineer who doesn’t just fix problems—you prevent them. You see rotating equipment not as individual machines, but as a living fleet with a lifecycle that demands strategy, foresight, and a steady hand. At KnowHireMatch, we’re looking for an Asset Optimization Engineer who will own the operational performance of our rotating equipment fleet across the company. This isn’t a desk job where you push paper. It’s a role where your decisions directly impact uptime, costs, and reliability—starting with natural gas turbines and expanding into engines, compressors, pumps, and motors.

## What You’ll Do

You’ll track and manage the full lifecycle of rotating equipment assets, ensuring every overhaul and maintenance activity happens at the right time for the right reasons. When something goes wrong—and it will—you’ll provide emergency support and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and keep operations running. You’ll optimize overhaul schedules and maintenance plans to squeeze every bit of performance and availability out of the fleet.

You’ll monitor, track, and implement service bulletins and manufacturer recommendations, translating technical guidance into actionable plans. Collaboration is key: you’ll work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure compliance with operational standards and contractual obligations. You’ll analyze asset performance data to spot trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, then prepare reports and documentation that tell the story of what’s working and what’s not. And yes, there will be other duties as assigned—because no two days look the same when you’re the go-to for asset optimization.

## What You Bring

- **10+ years** of experience in rotating equipment lifecycle management, maintenance, and asset performance analysis, with specific natural gas turbine experience.
- A **Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering** or a related technical field (high school diploma or GED is the minimum, but your experience will speak volumes).
- Strong analytical skills—you can interpret technical data and make decisions that stick.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work across teams and with external partners.
- Proficiency with asset management software and tools (preferred, but not required if you’re a quick learner).
- The ability to respond promptly to emergencies and provide technical support under pressure.
- Demonstrated PC and software skills, plus project management chops. You can read system maps and process P&IDs, understand fluid flow and piping design, and have a working knowledge of DCS, SCADA, and process control basics.
- Proven organizational skills and a strong customer focus—you care about the people relying on the equipment.
