Senior Field Service Engineer
📍 Roselle, Illinois
đź’° $90,000 - $120,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another field service role where you show up, fix something, and move on. It’s a chance to leave a real mark. As our Senior Field Service Engineer based in Roselle, Illinois, you’ll be the technical lead and the face of our company at customer sites—and when you’re back at the facility, you’ll help build the backbone of a growing service operation. You’ll write SOPs, digitize paper records, update manuals, and bring real structure to a department that’s ready to scale. As we grow, so will your leadership responsibilities. If you’re ready to build something, not just maintain it, this is your opportunity.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll travel to customer locations to install, commission, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair custom-built testing and industrial equipment. That means diagnosing and resolving issues across electrical, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems—no two days look the same. You’ll also train customer personnel on proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures, building strong, consultative relationships along the way.
Back at the facility, you’ll shift gears:
- Develop SOPs and convert paper-based service records into digital formats
- Update technical documentation and assist with in-house assembly and equipment testing
- Identify and communicate upsell opportunities like service agreements, calibration plans, and preventive maintenance programs
- Relay field observations and customer feedback to internal teams to drive product and service improvements
**What You Bring**
You have 5+ years of hands-on field service or industrial maintenance experience working on capital or electro-mechanical equipment. Your electronics and controls background is strong—you’re comfortable doing electrical work, reading schematics, and using diagnostic tools and meters with confidence. You also have working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
A BS, AAS, or technical certification in electronics, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered. You’re polished and professional in customer-facing situations, with a consultative approach to communication. You’re comfortable identifying and discussing service opportunities directly with clients, and you’re highly organized and self-directed—able to manage a full schedule with minimal oversight.
Travel is about 70% domestically, so flexibility and a willingness to hit the road are key.
**Compensation**
$90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience.
