Construction Administrator (Electrical or Mechanical)

📍 Lakewood, Colorado 💰 $62,000 - $85,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**

This isn’t a desk job. It’s a boots-on-the-ground role for someone who knows the difference between a properly torqued flange and a code violation waiting to happen. If you’ve spent years in the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades—and you’re ready to trade your tools for a clipboard (but still want to stay in the field)—this is your next move. You’ll join a respected MEP consulting firm based in Lakewood, Colorado, where your hands-on experience becomes the foundation for quality control, client trust, and real project impact.

**What You’ll Do**

You’ll be the eyes and ears on active construction sites across Colorado. Your day-to-day will blend technical precision with real-world problem-solving:

- Conduct jobsite field observations of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical installations to verify they match plans, standards, and code requirements
- Write clear, detailed observation reports that engineers and project managers actually want to read
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for technical compliance—catching issues before they become costly change orders
- Collaborate directly with project managers and engineers to resolve constructability issues and field conflicts
- Interface with contractors to keep quality control on track and construction accuracy high

This role requires physical presence at active construction sites. Expect to walk, climb, crouch, and crawl as needed. Hard hat and steel-toes are your new best friends.

**What You Bring**

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the MEP construction trades (mechanical, electrical, or plumbing)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills—you can explain a technical issue to an engineer or a contractor without losing anyone
- Sharp attention to detail and organizational habits that keep reports and submittals straight
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel); familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus
- A positive, collaborative attitude—you’re the kind of person people want on their project team
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance

An engineering background is preferred but not required. Professional references confirming past experience will be required.

**Compensation & Benefits**

- **Salary:** $62,000 – $85,000 per year, based on experience
- **Medical, dental, and vision:** 100% employer-paid for employees (partial coverage for dependents)
- **Retirement:** 401(k) plan, plus FSA and Wellness Reimbursement Program
- **Disability & life insurance:** Short- and long-term disability and life insurance fully covered
- **Schedule:** 9-hour workdays Monday–Thursday, half-day Fridays—yes, every Friday
- **Perks:** Generous paid holidays, company-sponsored events, and employee recognition programs
