**About This Opportunity:**

As our Assistant Plant Engineer, you will be the right hand to the Plant Engineer, taking full ownership of keeping our plant running at its peak. You’ll ensure our building and machinery are in top condition, minimizing downtime and maximizing output. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to make a tangible impact, developing both cutting-edge maintenance programs and the team that executes them. We offer a competitive salary of $115,000 - $140,000 per year, plus bonus, recognizing the critical value you bring.

**What You Will Do:**

You will be the engine of our maintenance and engineering operations. A key part of your role will be leading capital projects from development through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption, all while upholding the highest standards of safety and food safety.

Your leadership will transform our maintenance approach. You will champion the development and implementation of world-class systems like Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). By optimizing resource scheduling and work flow, you’ll directly reduce costs, boost plant capacity, and increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

You are a leader of people as much as processes. You will guide, develop, and coach our maintenance team, delegating tasks and fostering a positive, accountable work environment. As a safety champion, you will drive our culture forward through training, procedure adherence, and continuous vigilance.

**You Bring:**

* A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field, paired with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role where you’ve successfully developed and managed a team.
* **Non-negotiable technical expertise:** Hands-on experience with PLC systems and ammonia refrigeration.
* A required background in food manufacturing; experience in meat processing or harvest/kill floor operations is a significant plus.
* The ability to collaborate seamlessly with the Plant Engineer to develop KPIs, track supplier effectiveness, and report on maintenance performance that tells the real story of plant health.
