Structural Engineer - Building Design - Cool Job- Nashville
📍 Nashville, Tennessee
đź’° $90,000 - $120,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another structural engineering role—it’s your chance to leave a real mark on Nashville’s skyline. At KnowHireMatch, we’ve partnered with a forward-thinking firm that values your expertise, trusts your judgment, and wants you to own projects from the first sketch to the final steel beam. If you’re tired of being a cog in a machine and ready to be the engineer who makes the big calls, keep reading.
**Your Role, Your Impact**
You’ll step in as a Project Engineer, but really, you’ll be the bridge between vision and reality. You’ll lead client relationships—not just attend meetings, but run them. You’ll sit across from architects and contractors, translating design intent into buildable solutions. And when a proposal lands on your desk, you’ll help shape it, respond to RFIs, and even uncover new work with clients you already know.
You’ll produce the technical backbone of every project: design calculations, construction documents, and submittals that stand up to scrutiny. You’ll coordinate across disciplines to make sure every drawing, every detail, every spec aligns. And when the time comes, you’ll serve as Engineer of Record—owning the work, inside and out.
**What You Bring to the Table**
- **5–10 years** of structural building design experience—you’ve seen enough to know what works and what doesn’t.
- A **Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering** (Master’s preferred) and an active **PE license** (SE is a strong plus).
- Licensure in multiple states? Even better—we’ll put it to use.
- Deep comfort with **seismic design and analysis**—you don’t just follow the code, you understand the forces.
- Strong hands-on skills with **Revit** and analysis tools like **RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, and Adapt** (plus the usual Microsoft Office suspects).
**The Way You Work**
You’re organized enough to juggle five deadlines without dropping a ball, and you know building codes like the back of your hand—including how they vary by jurisdiction. You communicate clearly, whether you’re explaining a load path to a contractor or writing a proposal for a client. You’re self-driven, but you know when to pull in a teammate. And above all, you take ownership—every drawing you stamp, every calculation you sign, is a reflection of your standards.
