**Collections Specialist: Your Strategic Role in a Premier Law Firm**

**Your Mission**
You will serve as the crucial link between the firm’s Billing Attorneys and its clients, managing the collections lifecycle with tact and tenacity. Reporting to the Director of Finance, your core mission is to accelerate cash flow while maintaining the firm’s esteemed professional reputation.

Your key responsibilities will include:
* Partnering directly with Billing Attorneys to strategize and execute collection efforts.
* Proactively contacting clients for payment as authorized, sending payment reminders and copies of invoices.
* Diligently reviewing aged accounts receivable to identify invoices requiring follow-up and collaborating with attorneys on action plans.
* Preparing and dispatching formal collection letters upon attorney approval.
* Managing approved accounts receivable write-offs and analyzing invoice deductions to help implement future preventative measures.
* Navigating e-billing portals to track invoice status and creating procedures to swiftly identify and address rejections.
* Maintaining detailed spreadsheets for attorneys to track aged items, appeals, and critical deadlines.
* Collaborating seamlessly with Partners, the COO, and departments across Billing and Accounting, while also tackling special projects.

**What You Bring**
You have a four-year college degree and at least 3 years of proven collections experience. A background in a law firm or professional services environment is a significant advantage, as is familiarity with Aderant and various e-billing websites. You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Just as important are your professional attributes: a strong work ethic and self-starting nature, comfort with new technology, and a customer-service-oriented mindset. You’re a quick learner with exceptional attention to detail, able to multitask and prioritize effectively. Your success will be built on your excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

**Location & Compensation**
This is a hybrid position based in the firm’s Uniondale, Long Island office, requiring an initial training period of approximately 4 weeks primarily in-office. You will receive a competitive annual salary of $70,000 - $85,000, commensurate with your experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
