Maintenance Tech (3rd Shift only)
📍 Kansas City, Missouri
đź’° $35 - $38
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
You’re not just fixing machines—you’re the backbone of a 40-year legacy. At KnowHireMatch, we’re partnering with a Kansas City-based plastics manufacturer that’s been a driving force in the automotive industry for over four decades. They don’t just mold parts; they engineer solutions—from black-box design concepts to advanced composites, TPEs, and TPOs. And right now, they need a hands-on, sharp-minded Maintenance Tech to own the third shift and keep production humming. If you thrive on solving problems before they become emergencies, this is your spot.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll be the go-to person for keeping production equipment running at peak performance. That means:
- Performing and tracking preventative maintenance so downtime doesn’t stand a chance.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and programmable controller issues on the fly.
- Partnering with the cell supervisor to train associates on proper equipment use—because knowledge shared is downtime avoided.
- Keeping a sharp eye on inventory levels for replacement parts, so you’re never caught short.
- Changing oil per manufacturer specs and following every prescribed maintenance procedure to the letter.
- Working alongside the Process/Industrial Engineer to implement improvements that make the line run smoother.
- Maintaining a spotless work area (housekeeping is non-negotiable here).
- Jumping into team problem-solving sessions—think 8Ds, communication meetings, and collaborative fixes.
- Following all internal and OSHA safety procedures, because your safety and your team’s safety come first.
**What You Bring**
You’ve got 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and you’re comfortable with the full spectrum: electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and PLC troubleshooting. You’ve operated machining equipment and know your way around a toolbox. You’re the kind of person who sees a problem and starts mapping the solution before anyone else has finished describing it.
**Physical Demands**
This role keeps you on your feet—standing or walking for extended periods, with frequent lifting. We’re committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
**Compensation**
Competitive pay based on experience, with a full benefits package. Third shift offers a shift differential, so your wallet gets a boost while the rest of the world sleeps.
**Why This Role?**
This isn’t a generic “fix it when it breaks” gig. You’ll be part of a team that values your input, trusts your judgment, and gives you the autonomy to make real improvements. Plus, you’ll work with equipment that’s pushing the boundaries of automotive plastics—from highly engineered composites to specialized extrusion technologies. If you’re ready to bring your skills to a place that’s been leadin
