Connecting exceptional talent with leading employers

Chemical Process and Project Engineer/Manager

📍 Chicago, Illinois 💰 $100,000 - $150,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another engineering role—it’s a chance to own your work, shape real-world projects, and grow into a leadership position without ever losing your hands-on edge. You’ll join a 30-year-old firm with a rock-solid engineering group, a packed project pipeline, and a culture that values longevity over turnover. Based in Chicago, you’ll work from home, travel lightly (10-15%), and have a senior mentor who’s invested in your success. If you’re a chemical engineer who thrives on variety—from client meetings to equipment startups—this is your next move.

**What You’ll Do**
You’ll be the bridge between client needs and technical execution. That means sitting down with customers to review engineering documents and flow diagrams, then collaborating with corporate engineering teams to bring those plans to life. Depending on the project, you might handle the full lifecycle—or step in for specific phases: equipment specification, cost estimating, project tracking, installation, and startup.

But here’s the twist: you’ll also drive business development. This isn’t a back-office role. You’ll build relationships, identify new opportunities, and help grow the client base. Think of it as engineering with an entrepreneurial edge.

**What You Bring**
- A chemical engineering degree and 3+ years of experience in chemicals, foods, or consumer products—with concrete examples of strong engineering skills.
- Self-motivation and integrity, plus a customer-facing personality that makes clients trust you.
- An eagerness to develop new business (yes, that’s a skill we value).
- Bonus points if you’ve managed projects from design through installation, worked with an A&E production firm, or have hands-on exposure to controls, instrumentation, or civil engineering.

**Why You’ll Stay**
- **Mentorship:** A senior Chicago-based engineer will guide you, not micromanage you.
- **Stability:** Low turnover means your colleagues are here for the long haul—and so can you be.
- **Flexibility:** Work from home, with occasional travel to client sites.
- **Growth:** A bonus plan, 401(k), and the potential for long-term ownership.

**Compensation:** $100,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
