Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC / Plumbing)

📍 Salt Lake City, Utah 💰 $110,000 - $160,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**

This isn’t just another engineering role—it’s a chance to build something from the ground up. We’re launching a brand-new Salt Lake City office for a well-established MEP consulting firm, and we’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to be more than a cog in the machine. You’ll lead complex projects in healthcare, education, government, and commercial spaces, all while having a direct hand in shaping the culture and technical direction of a growing team. If you’re ready to trade the same old routine for real ownership and upward momentum, keep reading.

**What You’ll Do**

You’ll take the lead on HVAC and plumbing system design for buildings that matter—hospitals, schools, and civic projects where your work directly impacts people’s comfort and safety. You’ll own the full lifecycle, from concept through construction administration. That means:

- Developing system approaches, selecting equipment, and laying out mechanical rooms that actually work in the real world
- Collaborating directly with clients, architects, and internal disciplines—you’re the go-to engineer they trust
- Producing and reviewing 3D Revit models, 2D CAD drawings, engineering calculations, and specs
- Conducting site observations and managing construction administration documentation

You’ll also have the chance to step into technical leadership and mentoring as the office grows. This role is designed for someone who wants to build a legacy, not just punch a clock.

**What You Bring**

- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field)
- 6–15 years of hands-on HVAC and/or plumbing design experience in a building consulting environment
- An active PE license—this is non-negotiable
- Deep knowledge of commercial and institutional mechanical systems, plus the codes and standards that govern them
- Real proficiency in Revit (you’ll use it daily) and AutoCAD
- Strong communication skills—you can explain complex systems to architects and clients without making their eyes glaze over
- A detail-oriented, collaborative attitude that makes people want to work with you again

**Compensation & Perks**

- **Salary:** $110,000 – $160,000 per year, based on experience
- **Benefits:** Medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% employer-paid for you), 401(k) with company match, flexible spending and health savings accounts, plus short- and long-term disability and life insurance—all company-paid
- **Work Schedule:** Flexible. Think 9-hour days Monday through Thursday, with half days on Friday. That’s a real three-day weekend, every weekend.
- **Time Off:** Paid holidays, PTO, and a culture that actually respects your time away from work

This is your shot to step into a role with real leadership upside, in a city that’s growing fast. Ready to build something? Let’s talk.
