**You will be the visible heart of our safety culture, responsible for:**
Taking full ownership of all environmental, health, and safety programs. You’ll lead a small, dedicated team including a Safety Coordinator, driving a proactive safety mindset through genuine employee engagement and consistent follow-through. Your core mission will be to foster an environment where safety is lived and breathed.
Your key responsibilities include overseeing OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and all compliance reporting. You’ll manage our environmental programs—from air permits to waste minimization—and monitor industrial hygiene, including chemical exposure and noise. Building strong relationships is key; you’ll coordinate with regulatory agencies on inspections and permitting.
A major part of your success will hinge on your floor presence. You’ll conduct regular walkthroughs to identify hazards, engage directly with team members, and lead the safety committee. You will develop and deliver dynamic training for associates and management, oversee new hire safety orientation, and set clear safety metrics to track our progress toward zero incidents. You are a true partner to operations leadership, supporting continuous improvement and helping steer the entire facility toward safer, more efficient performance.
**You bring the following experience and skills:**
* A BS/BA in Environmental Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred.
* At least 3 years of hands-on plant safety experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong, practical knowledge of OSHA regulations and how to apply them on the production floor.
* Proven experience managing or coordinating safety programs—you’ve been in the driver’s seat.
* Familiarity with regulatory agency coordination and compliance recordkeeping.
* Workers’ compensation experience is a significant plus.
* You are comfortable and energized by spending significant time on the production floor daily.
* You are a strong communicator who can build trust, coach associates, and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
