Fire Protection Engineer
📍 Dallas, Texas

🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
You’re not just checking boxes on a code sheet. You’re designing the invisible safety net that protects people, property, and peace of mind. We’re a respected engineering consulting firm with deep roots in Texas, and we’re looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our collaborative team. This is your chance to move beyond routine tasks and immerse yourself in the technical depth of fire and life safety on complex, impactful projects. You’ll work in a hybrid model, connecting with our Texas team from Dallas, Houston, or Austin.
**Your Mission**
You will be the technical lead for fire protection design and consulting on a diverse portfolio, from cutting-edge commercial towers and critical healthcare facilities to robust industrial manufacturing plants. Your day-to-day will mix detailed design with big-picture strategy. One moment you’ll be engineering a sophisticated fire alarm or suppression system; the next, you’ll be advising architects on life safety planning or developing performance-based solutions that go beyond prescriptive code.
You bring your expertise to a multidisciplinary table, working directly with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers as well as architects. Your core responsibilities will include conducting fire hazard analyses, designing smoke control systems, and developing comprehensive code compliance strategies. This role is built for growth—you’ll build deeper technical expertise under the guidance of seasoned senior engineers while taking ownership of your projects.
**What You Bring**
* A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of hands-on experience in fire protection engineering or closely related design and consulting.
* A strong, working knowledge of NFPA, ICC, and building/fire codes. You’ve applied them to real-world designs for fire alarm, suppression, or life safety systems.
* A commitment to professional growth, including currently pursuing or planning to pursue your EIT certification and PE license.
* The ability to communicate complex safety concepts clearly to team members, clients, and authorities.
**Location & Compensation**
This is a hybrid role based in Texas. We have a strong preference for candidates in the Dallas, Houston, or Austin areas, but encourage all qualified applicants to connect with us.
We value your expertise and offer a competitive salary of **$85,000 - $120,000 per year**, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
