We’re seeking a hands-on Field Engineer / Technician to be our boots-on-the-ground authority for electrical and power systems. **Your Mission**
You will be the on-site technical lead, responsible for directing field operations and ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and in strict accordance with approved engineering designs. Your day-to-day will involve a dynamic mix of hands-on work and client-facing technical leadership.
Your core responsibilities include:
* Diagnosing and resolving system issues for electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
* Supporting the installation, commissioning, and verification of equipment against design schematics.
* Providing technical oversight to improve operational efficiency and ensure code compliance.
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable expertise.
**You Bring the Following Expertise**
**Required Qualifications:**
* A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus at least 3 years of relevant field experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on practice.
* Proficiency with electrical and power systems up to 480 VAC, including the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
* A detailed understanding of panel wiring and a proven ability to troubleshoot field issues by evaluating installed systems against design plans.
* Strong familiarity with the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, and other critical electrical standards.
* Excellent communication, documentation, and customer interaction skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
**Preferred Skills (A Plus):**
* Experience using AutoCAD to modify electrical drawings like single-line diagrams and panel layouts.
* Knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley is a favorite), HMI systems (GE iFIX, FactoryTalk View), or electrical protection relays (SEL, Multilin).
* Familiarity with data historian platforms (Canary, PI) or industrial control system communication protocols.
**Location & Compensation**
This is a full-time position based in Sugar Land, Texas. We offer a competitive salary range of **$100,000 - $120,000 per year**, commensurate with your experience and the critical value you bring to our field team.
