Litigation Associate - Construction

📍 Oakland, California 💰 $200,000 - $260,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
If you’re a California-licensed litigator who’s ready to move beyond just another seat at the table—and actually own your cases—this role is for you. We’re looking for a Construction Litigation Associate to join a well-established California firm’s Construction and Facilities Group. This isn’t about grinding through endless discovery in a silo. It’s about stepping into a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment where you’ll lead from day one, take first or second chair in trials and arbitrations, and build a career that feels like yours.

**What You’ll Do**
You’ll manage and drive construction and facilities-related litigation—think contract disputes, defect claims, and public works issues. From initial case evaluation through discovery, motion practice, trial prep, and resolution, you’ll handle it all. You’ll draft pleadings, briefs, and motions, conduct deep legal research, and help shape strategy alongside colleagues and clients. Direct client contact? Yes. Increasing responsibility for case leadership and courtroom experience? Absolutely. You’ll be the person clients trust and the attorney who makes things happen.

**What You Bring**
- A J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership in good standing.
- 5–10 years of litigation experience, ideally in construction disputes or complex commercial litigation.
- Sharp research, writing, and analytical skills—you catch the details others miss.
- Strong academic credentials (top of your class or from a top-tier school).
- The ability to work independently *and* thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset—plus a sense of humor and a genuine passion for advocacy.

**Why This Role Stands Out**
- Hands-on litigation experience with real opportunities to serve as first or second chair in trials and arbitrations.
- A collegial, team-oriented culture that prioritizes mentorship, collaboration, and your professional growth.
- Structured training and CLE support to keep you sharp.
- A strong support team that has your back on case management and client service.

**Compensation & Benefits**
- **$200,000 – $260,000 per year**, plus annual discretionary and billable hours bonuses.
- Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) with partial match and profit-sharing.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Professional development and CLE opportunities.
