**The Role**
As our Field Engineer / Technician, you’ll own the on-site execution of electrical and power system projects up to 480 VAC. You’ll direct field operations, verify installations against approved designs, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Your day-to-day will blend hands-on technical work with client communication—ensuring projects stay safe, on schedule, and within spec.
**What You’ll Do**
- Lead field activities for electrical system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics to guide crews
- Evaluate installed systems against engineering designs and resolve discrepancies on the spot
- Communicate directly with clients to understand operational needs and maintain strong relationships
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and other relevant electrical standards
- Support equipment startup, testing, and performance optimization
- Document field changes, issues, and resolutions clearly for project records
**What You Bring**
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus at least 3 years of relevant field experience—or equivalent combination of education and hands-on work
- Deep familiarity with electrical and power systems up to 480 VAC
- Ability to read and interpret panel wiring diagrams, field wiring diagrams, and single-line drawings
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and comfort working under pressure
- Excellent communication and documentation skills—you can explain technical issues to clients and crews alike
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70E
**Nice-to-Have Experience**
- AutoCAD for modifying electrical and instrumentation drawings (site layouts, single-line diagrams, conduit schedules)
- PLC programming, especially Allen-Bradley
- HMI platforms like GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, or AVEVA/Wonderware
- Electrical protection relays (SEL or Multilin)
- Data historian tools such as Canary, PI, or iFix
- Industrial control system communication protocols
