Senior Structural Engineer -Buildings
📍 Raleigh, North Carolina
đź’° $80,000 - $120,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another structural engineering role. It’s a chance to step into a high-visibility leadership position in Raleigh, where you’ll serve as Engineer of Record on complex building projects from concept through construction. You’ll own the work, shape the technical direction, and mentor the next generation of engineers—all while seeing your designs rise from the page into the real world. If you’re ready to lead with purpose, this is your moment.
**What You’ll Actually Be Doing**
You’ll lead from the front as the structural discipline lead on large-scale building projects—steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and specialty systems. From analysis through detailing, you’ll set the technical bar by overseeing calculations, drawings, specs, and reports, ensuring every deliverable meets code, quality, and constructability standards.
You’ll mentor junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work, teaching best practices, and elevating the entire team. Collaboration is key: you’ll work directly with architects and MEP teams to integrate structural systems seamlessly. And you won’t be chained to a desk—you’ll be present in the field for construction observations, site visits, and real-time problem-solving.
Beyond the technical, you’ll influence the business by supporting proposals, client presentations, and long-term relationship growth. This is a role where your name carries weight—you’ll sign and seal documents, help shape structural standards, and be trusted as a senior technical voice.
**Why This Role Is Different**
This isn’t a back-room calculation role. You’ll have real project ownership, the autonomy to make decisions, and the respect that comes with being a seasoned leader. If you’ve reached the stage where you want impact, technical respect, and a seat at the table, this checks every box.
**What You Bring**
- Bachelor’s in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (ABET/EAC accredited)
- 15+ years of structural design experience
- Active U.S. PE with NCEES record
- SE license (or passed SE exam) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in RISA, ENERCALC, L-Pile, and PCA

- Deep familiarity with UFC, DoD, VA, and applicable codes
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience
- Comfort in client-facing and technical presentation settings
- Willingness to travel for meetings and site visits
**Ideal Fit**
You’re a seasoned PE who enjoys leading complex building projects. You’re technically sharp but not ego-driven—you’re comfortable mentoring others and ready for a role where your expertise is both trusted and valued.
**Compensation:** $80,000 – $120,000 per year, based on experience.
