Director Of Operations

📍 Omaha 💰 $175,000 - $225,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another operations leadership role. It’s a chance to take the helm of multiple power generation facilities and shape how they run—safely, reliably, and profitably. You’ll be the strategic and operational backbone, driving continuous improvement while navigating a complex regulatory landscape. If you’re ready to lead with both head and hands, and make a tangible impact on the energy we deliver, this is your next move.

**The Role**
As Director of Operations, you’ll oversee everything from daily plant performance to long-term strategy. You’ll work closely with your team—and with the Senior Vice President of Operations—to ensure every facility meets or exceeds production targets, safety standards, and financial goals. Expect to be in the field as much as in the boardroom, solving problems, planning outages, and building relationships with regulators, partners, and the local community.

**What You’ll Do**
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, efficiency, and profitability—using best-in-class practices and your own sharp instincts.
- Lead, develop, and manage plant staff, making sure everyone is aligned with facility, company, and industry standards.
- Oversee daily operations to hit production and performance targets, while ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and contractual requirements.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, keeping everything in line with long-term maintenance plans.
- Administer O&M Agreements, PPAs, LTSA agreements, and utility agreements—and ensure they’re followed to the letter.
- Plan and oversee plant outages, balancing cost, schedule, and production.
- Get hands-on with equipment issues, coordinate external resources, and lead risk assessments.
- Direct system upgrades, modifications, and operational improvements.
- Lead transitions for asset acquisitions, divestitures, or changes in O&M providers.
- Serve as the key liaison with regulatory agencies and the local community, building trust and engagement.
- Complete special projects as assigned—and show up with reliable, predictable attendance.

**What You Bring**
- 10+ years of experience in power generation operations, with a proven track record of leadership.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (highly preferred).
- Deep knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong financial acumen—you can manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term plans.
- The ability to make high-level, independent decisions in a complex operational environment.
- Excellent communication skills for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- A hands-on, collaborative approach—you’re not afraid to get into the details.

**Compensation**
$175,000 – $225,000 per year, depending on experience.

**Location**
Omaha, Nebraska.
