A Gallup research study from 2013 found, only 13 percent of employees are "engaged" in their jobs, or emotionally invested in their work and focused on helping their organizations improve.
The data was gathered from more than 140 countries, show that 63 percent are "not engaged" - or simply unmotivated and unlikely to exert extra effort - while the remaining 24 percent are "actively disengaged," or truly unhappy and unproductive.
In our coaching experience we have encountered, many of those “not engaged” employees and some of those “truly unhappy” ones; that were beyond ready to quit their jobs.
They were clear on what they didn’t like about their jobs and/or company culture.
Their goal and challenge was to find a company and job they like, and where they would feel engaged.
