Senior Project Engineer- Roadway
📍 Orlando, Florida
đź’° $115,000 - $155,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another project engineer seat. It’s a chance to step into the driver’s seat on a $100M+ FDOT roadway and bridge project in Orlando — real infrastructure that shapes how people move. You won’t be buried in paperwork. You’ll be the technical bridge between the plans and the field, working on CIP walls, MSE walls, sound walls, and bridge approaches. If you’ve already cut your teeth on heavy civil work and you’re ready to own more — RFIs, subcontractors, cost tracking, and coordination with the Engineer of Record — this is the role that will sharpen your skills fast.
**What You’ll Be Driving**
You’ll help manage the technical, commercial, and coordination side of a major FDOT infrastructure project. That means:
- Leading project meetings with owners, foremen, subcontractors, and internal teams — you’re the glue that keeps everyone aligned
- Coordinating technical information between the project team, owner, Engineer of Record, and field leadership
- Managing RFIs and driving Non-Conformance Report resolution from start to finish
- Reviewing specs, technical data, plans, shop drawings, and project details to ensure contract and design conformance
- Coordinating CIP concrete wall work — retaining walls, MSE walls, sound walls, bridge approach walls, and wing walls
- Supporting layout, reinforcing steel coordination, formwork, concrete placement, and curing activities
- Scheduling and monitoring construction progress, keeping the project on track and on budget
**What You Bring**
You’ve already been exposed to large civil work and you’re ready for more responsibility. You connect the technical side of the job with what’s actually happening in the field. You bring:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer on heavy civil or FDOT roadway and bridge projects
- A solid grasp of construction sequencing, technical details, and field coordination
- The ability to communicate clearly with everyone — from the EOR to the foreman
- A track record of managing RFIs, subcontractors, and cost tracking
- Experience with CIP concrete, retaining walls, MSE walls, or sound walls is a strong plus
**Why This Role Is Worth Your Time**
- Direct-hire role with an established Florida heavy civil contractor
- Seat on a $100M+ FDOT infrastructure project with visible, technical work
- Step-up opportunity for a strong PE ready to operate at a senior level
- Competitive base compensation: **$115,000 - $155,000 per year**, plus project bonus opportunity
- Full benefits and relocation consideration for the right candidate
- Confidential process from first conversation through final steps
This is the kind of role that can accelerate your career fast — because the work is large, technical, and visible. If you’re ready to own more, let’s talk.
