Of Counsel - Eminent Domain
📍 San Diego, Los Angeles, or Oakland, CA, California
đź’° $190,000 - $290,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another litigation role—it’s your chance to step into the spotlight on high-stakes, high-profile cases that shape California’s infrastructure. You’ll be the go-to strategist for public entity clients navigating complex land acquisition, from major transit projects to public works. If you’ve spent years honing your trial skills and are ready to own the room—in both bench and jury trials—this is where you’ll make your mark.
**Your Role in the Action**
As Of Counsel in our Trial and Litigation Practice Group, you’ll lead the charge on eminent domain and complex litigation matters. You won’t just manage cases—you’ll drive them from start to finish. That means:
- Handling law and motion practice, including drafting and arguing dispositive motions that set the tone for the entire case.
- Building cases for trial: developing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and taking—and defending—depositions that matter.
- Advising on constitutional claims in state and federal courts, where every argument counts.
- Collaborating with a sharp, tight-knit team to deliver strategic legal advice on real property, land acquisition, and risk management for large-scale infrastructure projects.
You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in all phases of litigation, gaining substantial trial experience that goes beyond the typical “support” role. This is hands-on, high-impact work.
**What You Bring**
You’re a seasoned litigator with at least seven years of experience—ideally in eminent domain, real estate, or real property law. You hold a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, and you’ve proven you can manage all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings through trial. Your analytical, research, and writing skills are exceptional, and you thrive on creative problem-solving. You’re a team player with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in elevating the firm’s reputation and brand.
**Why This Role Stands Out**
We believe in rewarding the work you do—and the life you live outside of it. That’s why we offer:
- Competitive health insurance
- 401(k) with partial match
- Profit-sharing
- Performance-based bonuses
- Reasonable billable hours requirement (because your time matters)
**Compensation:** $190,000 - $290,000 per year, based on experience and location (San Diego, Los Angeles, or Oakland, CA).
