**Your Mission:**
You will own the estimating process, ensuring our bids are both competitive and profitable. Leading a team of estimators, you’ll foster their growth while steering the department through the fast-paced, dynamic world of fire sprinkler construction. You’ll be the crucial link between opportunity and execution.
**What You’ll Do:**
* Lead, manage, and mentor the estimating team, setting the standard for accuracy and excellence.
* Review all bid documents—specs, drawings, addenda—to develop comprehensive and precise takeoffs.
* Build detailed cost estimates encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
* Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and leadership to ensure a seamless transition from bid to project award.
* Serve as the key point of contact for general contractors, handling clarifications, scope questions, and revisions with confidence.
* Master the art of juggling multiple “living and breathing” bids, adapting quickly to changes and crushing tight deadlines.
* Drive strategy through margin analysis, value engineering, and competitive positioning.
**You Bring:**
* A minimum of 5 years of hands-on fire sprinkler estimating experience (non-negotiable).
* A deep understanding of construction workflows, building systems, and NFPA standards for sprinkler systems.
* Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools is a significant advantage.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize shifting demands under pressure.
* Strong, direct communication skills for interactions with your team, GCs, and clients.
* Proven leadership ability and a genuine desire to develop junior talent.
* Experience or familiarity with fire sprinkler design is a plus.
