Maintenance Technician

📍 Kansas City, Missouri 💰 $26 - $36 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another maintenance role—it’s a chance to own the heartbeat of a busy Kansas City plant. You’ll be the person who keeps everything running, from injection molding presses to bathroom fixtures, and your expertise will be trusted and valued. If you’re the kind of technician who takes pride in a job well done, thrives on variety, and doesn’t mind rolling up your sleeves for an after-hours call, this is your spot.

**What You’ll Do**
You’ll install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe/electrical systems in a commercial/industrial setting. Your days will be anything but predictable—and that’s the point. Here’s a taste of what you’ll own:

- **Safety first:** Maintain rigid safety standards and immediately report or correct any unsafe condition. You’ll also serve on the environmental response action team, fire brigade, or as a first responder when needed.
- **Preventive & reactive maintenance:** Perform daily, weekly, and monthly PMs. Troubleshoot and repair plastic injection molding machines, granulators, thermolators, material dryers, and D.M.E.’s. Disassemble, measure, and install barrels, screws, tip assemblies, heater bands, and complete injection units.
- **Secondary & auxiliary equipment:** Swap sensors, replace lamps, repair bathroom facilities, and keep the parking lot and walkways clean and clear. You’ll also maintain all equipment to top-level working condition.
- **Inventory & documentation:** Order and follow up on repair parts to maintain inventory levels. Complete PM documents, work orders, and other required paperwork.
- **Collaboration & priority:** Work alongside other plant departments, determine daily work priorities as issues arise, and recommend machine repairs with follow-up. You’ll also provide on-the-job training to personnel where appropriate.
- **On-call flexibility:** Be ready to stay after scheduled hours or come in on a 24-hour call basis. You’ll need to know the sequence of operation on presses and be comfortable with hi-lo driving (maintain safe speeds, stop at cross aisles, stay aware of surroundings).

**What You Bring**
- **3+ years** of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines and related support equipment.
- Comfort with disassembly, measurement, and installation of injection unit components.
- A clean, organized work ethic—your tools, workspace, and supplies stay in top shape.
