Electrical Engineer
📍 Defiance, Ohio
đź’° $125,000 - $155,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another engineering role—it’s a chance to build something from the ground up. KnowHireMatch is partnering with a well-established consumer products manufacturer to staff their brand-new plant in Defiance, Ohio. They’re looking for a senior Electrical Engineer who can own the electrical backbone of a facility that doesn’t exist yet. If you’re the kind of person who thrives on designing power systems from scratch, mentoring a team, and seeing your work come to life in concrete and steel, this is your moment.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll step in as the Subject Matter Expert for all things electrical and power—leading the design and execution of large-scale capital projects from concept through commissioning. That means you’ll:
- Own the electrical design for the new plant, including power distribution from high voltage down to low voltage, drives, motors, and PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens are your tools of choice).
- Manage capital projects end-to-end: budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, and ensuring everything meets safety and performance specs.
- Coach, mentor, and train the electrical team—this isn’t a solo gig. You’ll be shaping the next generation of talent while you build.
- Collaborate with controls engineers and plant leadership to integrate DCS systems (a plus, but not required) and ensure seamless automation.
- Travel to other company plants 3 out of 4 weeks per month for the first 6 months, then permanently relocate to the Defiance area.
**What You Bring**
You’re not just an engineer—you’re a builder and a leader. Here’s what we need to see:
- 7+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, with a strong focus on power distribution and controls.
- Proven project management chops—you’ve led capital projects with budgets that make people blink.
- Deep familiarity with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens platforms, plus drives, motors, and PLCs.
- High-voltage to low-voltage expertise—you know your way from substations to sensors.
- A track record of coaching and mentoring others (this is non-negotiable).
- Willingness to travel extensively for the first 6 months, then relocate to Defiance, Ohio.
**Compensation & Perks**
We’re talking $125,000–$155,000 per year, depending on experience. Plus, you’ll be part of a team that values your expertise and gives you the autonomy to make real decisions. This isn’t a maintenance role—it’s a legacy-building role.
