📍 Manhattan Beach, California
đź’° $60 - $90
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t your typical embedded role. You’ll be building software that flies, orbits, and operates in environments where every millisecond counts. If you thrive on the edge of what’s possible—writing code for systems that can’t afford to fail—this is where you belong. We’re looking for a seasoned Embedded Software Engineer to join a fast-moving team in Manhattan Beach, CA, working on flight, space, and ground systems that push the limits of real-time performance.
**What You’ll Do**
You will design and develop software for resource-constrained targets with soft and hard real-time requirements. Your code will implement complex data analysis, routing, and control system algorithms. You’ll work across a range of processors, memory architectures, and I/O systems, writing both procedural and object-oriented software in C++. You’ll also dive into real-time operating systems like VxWorks or Linux, using their host environments and development tools to bring your designs to life.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and optimize software for flight, space, and ground systems
- Implement algorithms that handle data analysis, routing, and control
- Work with RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, GH Integrity)
- Collaborate in a lab setting with rapid development cycles
- Participate in the full lifecycle: architecture, requirements, OO development, code, unit test, integration, and system test
**What You Bring**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong C++ and object-oriented design skills
- Proven experience with RTOS environments
- Comfort in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment
**Preferred (But Not Required)**
- Experience across all lifecycle phases, from architecture to system integration
- Familiarity with lab instruments like signal generators, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power sources
- Hardware validation and verification experience with RF, digital, or mixed-signal devices
**Compensation & Details**
- Pay: $60–$90 per hour (W2)
- Duration: 12-month contract
- Location: Onsite only in Manhattan Beach, CA
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Interview expenses covered
