Plant Engineer

📍 Morgantown, West Virginia 💰 $105,000 - $140,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another plant engineering role—it’s a chance to get your hands on real, complex machinery in a power plant that runs on teamwork and technical grit. You’ll be based in Morgantown, West Virginia, where the work is hands-on, the challenges are varied, and your ideas actually get implemented. If you’re the kind of engineer who likes to solve problems before they become emergencies, and you’re ready to rotate through operations, maintenance, and material handling to truly understand how everything fits together, this is your next move.

**What You’ll Do**
You’ll report to the Reliability and Performance Manager, but you won’t be stuck behind a desk. Your days will mix solo analysis with team collaboration, and you’ll be expected to bring your existing engineering knowledge and build on it with every new assignment. Here’s a taste of what that looks like:

- **Get deep into the plant** – Complete rotations with operations, maintenance, and material handling to learn the equipment, processes, and people inside out. You’ll work alongside the crews who keep the lights on.
- **Solve the tough stuff** – Identify and resolve abnormal equipment conditions by working across departments. You’ll provide technical guidance to Operations and Maintenance on repairs, procedures, and projects.
- **Own projects from start to finish** – Assist in developing project proposals, evaluating material supply bids, and then leading execution. You’ll keep budgets and schedules on track, and coordinate contractors for testing and maintenance.
- **Be the reliability detective** – Participate in or lead Root Cause Analysis investigations to find causal factors and implement corrective actions. Monitor unit and equipment performance, working with station and external experts to determine root causes and solutions.
- **Support outages like a pro** – Help plan and execute outages, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget stay locked in. You’ll also work with the Reliability and Performance team to deploy predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies that catch problems before they start.
- **Stay compliant and curious** – Comply with all Federal, State, and Local permits, OSHA safety regulations, and applicable engineering standards. Research and develop alternative methods and technologies for monitoring and maintaining equipment.
- **Keep the system humming** – Maintain your backlog of assigned Work Orders, create new Work Orders and Purchase Requisitions as needed, and participate in Management of Change improvements. Share your technical knowledge with the team and apply new technology in cost-effective ways.

**What You Bring**
- 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a power plant or heavy industrial setting
- A solid grasp of mechanical, electrical, or process engineering principles
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team
- Comfort wi
