Controls Engineer

📍 McElhattan, Pennsylvania 💰 $100,000 - $125,000 🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another controls role. It’s a chance to step into a growing manufacturer where your work will directly shape the automation and safety systems that power industrial operations. Based in McElhattan, PA, you’ll join a team that values real engineering judgment—not just checkbox compliance. If you’re the kind of engineer who likes to own a project from concept through commissioning, this is your spot.

**What You’ll Do**
You’ll design, develop, and deploy control systems for industrial machinery and production lines. That means writing PLC code (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), configuring HMIs, and selecting the right sensors, drives, and actuators for the job. You’ll work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure the hardware and software play nice together—and you’ll be on-site during startups to troubleshoot and fine-tune until the system runs the way it should.

- Develop and debug ladder logic, function block, and structured text programs
- Design control panels and specify components (I/O, power supplies, networking gear)
- Create and maintain electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
- Support commissioning, including on-site testing and validation
- Write technical documentation—user manuals, test plans, and as-built drawings
- Troubleshoot field issues and recommend process improvements

**What You Bring**
You’ve got at least three years of hands-on controls engineering experience under your belt. You’re comfortable with the full lifecycle of a project, from concept to handoff. You know your way around a panel, and you understand why a 4-20mA loop might drift on a hot day. You also communicate clearly—because explaining a complex control sequence to a plant manager is part of the job.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency with Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk) or Siemens TIA Portal
- Experience with VFDs, servo drives, and motion control
- Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 13849, ANSI B11) is a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support (10-15%)

**Compensation & Culture**
You’ll earn between **$100,000 and $125,000 per year**, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The team is tight-knit, the projects are varied, and your input will be heard—not buried in a chain of command. If you’re ready to design systems that actually get built and run, let’s talk.
