Inventory Control Specialist - 2nd shift
📍 Waterloo, Iowa
đź’° $60,000 - $65,000
🏢 Full Time
**About This Opportunity**
This isn’t just another inventory role—it’s the heartbeat of production in Waterloo. You’ll be the person who keeps the line moving, the stock accurate, and the team supplied. If you like work that’s hands-on, fast-paced, and genuinely impactful, this 2nd shift position at KnowHireMatch.com is where you’ll make a real difference—and earn a solid $60,000–$65,000 a year doing it.
**What You’ll Do**
You’ll own the flow of parts and supplies from dock to production floor. That means unloading trucks, checking for damage, and verifying freight bills before anything hits the shelves. When an order comes in, you’ll identify the items, pull them from stock, pack and label them, and note any backorders. You’ll prep orders for carrier pickup or delivery, keeping carrier records clean and current.
Inventory accuracy is your superpower. You’ll conduct physical counts, reconcile what’s on hand with what’s in the system, and alert purchasing when reorder points are hit. When departments have excess or unused supplies, you’ll retrieve them and re-enter them into inventory—keeping everything lean and usable.
You’ll also support other departments by setting up routine deliveries of standard orders and anticipating predictable supply needs. And when it comes to warehouse vehicles and equipment, you’ll keep them clean, follow manufacturer standards, schedule preventive maintenance, and report any damage or mechanical issues to your supervisor.
Safety and cleanliness are non-negotiable. You’ll follow procedures, rules, and regulations to keep the warehouse a safe, organized place to work.
**What You Bring**
- An Associate’s degree (2-year) is required
- A valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification (or the ability to get it quickly)
- The ability to drive and operate equipment, including completing required pre-operation inspections
- Physical readiness for periods of walking, sitting, climbing, reaching, stooping, and kneeling
- Strength to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds—and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- A willingness to work 2nd shift (that’s where the action is)
**Why This Role?**
You’ll work with a team that values precision and hustle, in a role where your attention to detail directly supports production. Plus, the 2nd shift gives you a different rhythm—less traffic, more focus, and a schedule that frees up your mornings. If you’re ready to take control of inventory and make a tangible impact, this is your move.
