Job Description
Service Technician – Large CNC / Machine Tools Travel: North America (with occasional international travel) Take Precision on the Road. Deliver World-Class Equipment. Our client is a globally recognized manufacturer of large, high-precision machine tools engineered in Germany and trusted by leading aluminum, steel, and paper producers worldwide. They are seeking a skilled Service Technician who thrives in the field, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in commissioning world-class machinery at customer sites. What You’ll Be Responsible For Install, set up, and commission large, high-precision CNC machine tools at customer sites Lead machines from mechanical assembly through final fine-tuning, testing, and customer acceptance Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in the field Program, parameterize, and optimize control and drive systems from various manufacturers Set up and calibrate measuring and testing equipment to verify accuracy and performance Train customers on machine operation, maintenance, and best practices Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, alignments, and re-alignments Partner with engineering and production teams to implement improvements and enhance customer satisfaction What You Bring Technical training as a Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic, Electronics Technician, or a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering(Significant hands-on experience may substitute for formal education) Experience assembling, installing, or servicing industrial machinery Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and controls PLC experience (IEC 61131-3) is a plus Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and circuit diagrams Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus Comfortable working independently in the field or collaboratively with a team Clear communicator with customers and internal teams Willingness to travel extensively within North America (with occasional international travel) English proficiency required; German language skills a plus Why This Role Stands Out Competitive base salary based on experience and technical expertise Additional earnings for travel time, overtime, and per diem Full-time, stable employment with long-term career potential Exposure to advanced, large-scale CNC and machine tool technology 10 paid holidays plus paid vacation time Comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Life and disability insurance Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates The Opportunity This is not a bench-top service role.
