Job Description
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, build, and maintain core backend systems that sync financial and operational data across fragmented legacy platforms.
Develop and maintain APIs that unify siloed construction software systems.
Own third-party integrations, including navigating complex and undocumented legacy systems.
Build and scale distributed systems that support real-time data synchronization.
Collaborate closely with product and engineering teammates to define architecture and implementation strategy.
Improve system reliability, observability, and performance across infrastructure components.
Contribute to engineering best practices and help shape a high-performance, low-ego engineering culture.
Take projects from concept to production with high ownership and minimal oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a top US or Canadian university required.
No bootcamp-only backgrounds.
Graduate degrees are not preferred for this role.
Experience
1–5 years of experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer.
Experience working at a Seed to Series D stage startup strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments.
Stable work history (no pattern of short tenures under one year).
Technical Skills
Strong backend development experience.
Familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
Experience working with systems such as Redis, Postgres, EC2, or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CDK).
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and API design.
Experience integrating with third-party or legacy systems is highly valued.
Not primarily focused on AI/LLM development.

In-person role based in San Francisco (5 days per week).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive base salary: $130K–$240K
Equity ownership: 0.05%–0.20%
Visa sponsorship available (TN, OPT, H1B transfer; open to US and Canadian candidates).
