Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Why This Is a Great Opportunity Work directly with an experienced Arizona litigator on high-exposure commercial vehicle defense cases Primarily remote role with flexibility to use the Phoenix office as needed Handle substantive litigation: depositions, motion practice, and trials — not just paper pushing Join a small, nimble firm where your results are visible and your input is valued Solid compensation DOE with room to grow based on performance and experience Location Primarily remote role based in Arizona Phoenix office available for in-person work, meetings, and collaboration as desired Note Must hold an active Arizona Bar license Looking for 3+ years of insurance defense experience, with a strong preference for 5+ years Must have direct experience handling depositions and at least some trial work in civil defense About Our Client Our client is a boutique Arizona law firm that handles civil defense matters with a focus on insurance defense The firm is led by seasoned trial counsel with decades of experience in Arizona courts Matters typically involve defending insureds and businesses in commercial vehicle and trucking-related claims, not simple “blue car, red car” personal auto cases Clients value the firm’s conscientious, experienced, and dedicated approach to litigation and risk management Job Description Defend insureds, motor carriers, and businesses in commercial vehicle and trucking accident litigation Manage a litigation caseload from assignment through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts Draft pleadings, discovery responses, dispositive motions, trial briefs, and evaluation reports for insurers and corporate clients Appear in Arizona state and, where applicable, federal courts for hearings, conferences, and trials Evaluate case exposure and provide clear, timely reporting and recommendations to clients and carriers Work collaboratively with firm leadership on case strategy, trial themes, and settlement posture Maintain regular, professional communication with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and the court Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active Arizona Bar license in good standing 3+ years of insurance defense experience required; 5+ years preferred Strong background in automobile/commercial vehicle defense or general bodily injury defense litigation Proven experience taking and defending depositions; trial experience or first/second chair trial involvement strongly preferred Solid legal writing skills and comfort with motion practice and complex discovery Ability to work independently in a primarily remote environment while staying responsive and organized Professional, solutions-focused communication style with insurers and corporate clients Why You’ll Love Working Here Primarily remote structure with flexibility and trust in your ability to manage your caseload Challenging, higher-exposure commercial vehicle defense work instead of routine low-value cases Close collaboration with experienced trial counsel and the opportunity to sharpen your courtroom skills Streamlined, small-firm environment without big-firm bureaucracy Compensation commensurate with experience, with clear upside for strong litigators JPC-500 #LI-SK3 Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Dental insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance
