Chemical Process and Project Engineer Chicago Based - Remote Role Overview: Our client is seeking a local engineer to be home-based to design and manage projects for chemical and food customers in the Chicago area with 10-15% travel. This 30-year-old company maintains a fully staffed engineering group with a robust pipeline of projects, which is why this position is open. Responsibilities: Will meet with clients, reviewing engineering documents and flow diagrams, and collaborate with corporate engineering teams. This person could do all pieces of a project or some - including equipment specification, cost estimating, project tracking, equipment installation, and startup. This job also includes business development. Candidate Requirements/Background: Chemical Engineer who is local with 3-15 years of experience out of chemicals, foods, or consumer products with examples that highlight strong engineering skills. Soft skills needed include self-motivation, integrity, have a customer-facing personality, and possess an eagerness to develop new business Pluses: Experience managing projects from design through installation; prior work with an A&E production firm; support; examples of hands-on ability; exposure to controls, instrumentation, or civil engineering.
