Title: Pathologists’ Assistant Location: Corpus Christi, TX Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (with rotation-based variations) About the Opportunity A pathology practice in the Coastal Texas region is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant to support surgical pathology services across multiple facilities. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of specimen types and provides strong professional growth in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Perform gross examination, dissection, and preparation of surgical pathology specimens Accession specimens and gather appropriate clinical information Prepare tissues for histologic processing and special procedures Assist with frozen sections as needed across multiple facilities Photograph gross specimens and document findings accurately Support autopsy-related tasks as required Maintain surgical pathology protocols, reports, and related documentation Participate in quality initiatives and troubleshooting of complex cases Provide training or guidance to staff as needed Assist with scheduling to ensure consistent workflow coverage Uphold safety, compliance, and quality standards within the laboratory Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program Experience: New graduates welcomed Experience performing grossing, frozen sections, and related tasks preferred Requirements: Ability to pass a visual color discrimination test Completion of required continuing education per ASCP or state guidelines Schedule Details Standard hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM When scheduled on first-shift grossing: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM When scheduled on second-shift grossing: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM Call coverage is required Grossing performed primarily at the Regional Lab
