Optometrist (Medical Optometry) Compensation: Competitive salary + Sign-On Bonus + Relocation + Loan Assistance Job Type: Full-time Location: Rutland, Vermont We are seeking a Medical Optometrist to join a hospital-owned ophthalmology practice within a well-established rural community hospital. This opportunity offers collaboration with an experienced ophthalmologist, another optometrist, and a highly skilled team of certified ophthalmic assistants in a supportive, patient-focused environment. Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical optometry services Conduct eye examinations and vision assessments Diagnose and manage diseases and disorders of the visual system Develop and implement treatment plans for ocular conditions Prescribe corrective lenses and medical therapies as appropriate Collaborate closely with ophthalmology and hospital-based providers Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Deliver patient-centered care to a diverse population Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry program Licensed by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) Active Vermont optometry license (or ability to obtain) Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications and EMR systems Benefits Competitive salary Signing bonus Relocation assistance Educational loan assistance PSLF-eligible employer Malpractice coverage provided Annual CME funding Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Combined Time Off (CTO) College Savings Account option 10 weeks of paid vacation annually
