Non-automotive, stable manufacturer is hiring a Purchasing Coordinator! The Purchasing Coordinator will report to the Materials Director, who in less than a year has already been promoted. Daily activities will include:
Follow up on the status of open and past due orders with vendors
Place new orders with vendors based on established production schedule
Develop vendor relationships
Utilize written and verbal communication to communicate with suppliers
Complete purchase orders
Coordinate trucking and vendor pick up with the shipping department
Research and source new vendors
Negotiate improved terms with established vendors
Conduct market research and monitor industry and commodity trends
Participate in continuous improvement and Lean activities
Work with the Materials Director to monitor and improve KPIs
Complete RFQs as needed and present to the Materials Director for final decisions
Other duties as required

Requirements for the Purchasing Coordinator :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Materials, Logistics or a related field is highly desired, a high school diploma or GED is required
Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar Purchasing Coordinator position
Experience performing similar purchasing functions in manufacturing environments
Experience purchasing components from established vendors based off of an established production schedule
ERP and/or MRP experience
Negotiation skills
Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Preferred skill sets:
Sheet metal, stamping or fabrication experience
CPIM or other related certifications
Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
Crystal reports
