Towing Vessel Captain – Job DescriptionLicense Required: USCG Master of Towing OverviewWe’re looking for a reliable Towing Vessel Captain to operate a well-maintained, twin-screw 600 HP day-boat supporting marine construction work. The vessel is undergoing a full overhaul and will be delivered in excellent mechanical and material condition, with full heating and air-conditioning. You’ll work with one deckhand and handle safe, efficient barge movements in the Jacintoport area of Houston. Key Responsibilities Operate a 600 HP twin-screw push boat for daily construction support. Move and position a 60’ x 140’ crane barge and a 40’ x 80’ material barge. Follow all USCG regulations, facility rules, and safe-handling practices. Complete daily inspections: engine oil and fluids, packing glands, and overall vessel condition. Maintain a clean, organized, trash-free vessel and barge fleet. Uphold a strict no-smoking policy inside the vessel. Communicate clearly with the deckhand and project management team. Schedule & Duration Approximately 5-month assignment. 6 days per week, 12-hour shifts. Strong potential for long-term or permanent placement based on upcoming projects.
